International Open Access Week is celebrated each year in late October. International Open Access Week takes action in making openness the default for research—to raise the visibility of scholarship, accelerate research, and turn breakthroughs into better lives. This year’s 10th International Open Access Week theme is “Open in order to…”. It focuses on concrete benefits of open access and on what openness enables; and then to take action to realize these benefits.
