A new Ebook Central Reader App will be introduced on 1 April for users at University of Vaasa and VAMK University of Applied Sciences. The app will be available for both mobile devices and computers, replacing the Adobe Digital Editions software previously used in the service. Any books you have recently downloaded to Adobe Digital Editions will remain accessible there until their loan period ends.
The Ebook Central Reader App allows you to download e-books to your device and read them offline. Browser-based reading will remain unchanged – you can continue to read e-books in Ebook Central using the Read Online option.
Using the app requires a personal Ebook Central account. You can create an account in Ebook Central via the Sign In page. Registering your device requires a numeric code, which you can obtain during the download process or from your account settings. More detailed instructions for downloading and using the app are available in ProQuest’s Ebook Central guide.
Students can download the app to their own devices starting from 1 April. The app will also be made available for staff workstations. We will share the details as they become available.
