We offer comprehensive collections to support research, as well as support for data retrieval, data management, publication and research evaluation. The library also provides tailored courses on request for larger groups.
We contribute to the development of research and RDI support services in collaboration with other research support units in our university and universities of applied sciences.
The library's printed collections are available to everyone. Researchers can access their own university's resources within the university network and by remote access via the Finna search service. In the library building in Vaasa, library visitors can also use resources of University of Vaasa, VAMK University of Applied Sciences, and Novia University of Applied Sciences. The Interlibrary loans service enables you to borrow or order photocopies of material, which cannot be found in our library collections or in libraries nearby.
Researchers and staff at our universities can suggest additions to the library's collections. Books can also be acquired as personal researchers' loans. The researchers' loans service applies only to newly acquired books. The loan period for personal researchers' loans is 56 days and acquisition requests are to be made with the e-form.
The library offers personal guidance in information retrieval for PhD students and other researchers. Research projects, post doc researchers and staff can also request systematic literature searches and other information searches from the library.
Larger requests for literature searches and tailor-made education will be charged according to the service charges.
For doctoral networks and other groups, tailor-made information literacy education can be arranged. Education is arranged i.e. about online information resources, reference management and other tools, data management, open science, and evatiation of scholarly publications. PhD students and staff at our universities can take part in EduLab's courses.
