University of Vaasa subscribes to LibKey, a set of tools for faster and more convenient access to e-journals and articles. With these AI-based tools, you can seamlessly access both subscription-based and open access articles in just one click.
The LibKey tools include:
- LibKey Discovery enables one-click access to article PDFs in Finna’s article search: Click on “PDF Full text” to open the article directly in PDF format in your browser:
- LibKey Link provides one-click access to full-text articles from specific research databases available at the university (ProQuest ABI Inform, all EBSCO article databases, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Web of Science) as well as from Google Scholar. Just follow the "Check Full Text" link in the databases:
- LibKey Nomad is a browser extension that offers immediate access to full-text articles as you browse the web. It detects when you find a scholarly article (e.g. on a publisher’s website, in Wikipedia, etc.) and provides a direct link to the full text if it's available through the university’s subscriptions. If the article is available, click on the logo to open full text:
LibKey Nomad is available for download here. After confirming the installation, choose University of Vaasa (Tritonia Academic Library) as your institution.
- LibKey.io enables you to quickly locate and access articles using either DOIs or PubMed IDs.
The LibKey subscription also includes BrowZine, a digital journal bookshelf for both subscription and open access journals.
- You can access BrowZine from the Finna article search results page. Click on “View Complete Issue” to open BrowZine and to browse the whole issue of the journal or to view previous ones:
- BrowZine can be found in Finna, LibGuides, or directly at https://browzine.com/libraries/3310
- BrowZine is available in both browser and mobile app formats.
- By creating a personal account, you can e.g. organize your favorite journals into My Bookshelf and receive weekly email notifications of new articles.
