Access to Cabells Predatory Reports has been opened for University of Vaasa. Predatory Reports contains information on so-called predatory publications. It can be used as a tool for evaluating scientific journals and choosing a publication channel.
Predatory Reports (formerly Cabells Blacklist) is a subscription database that was opened in 2017. It currently contains over 19,000 journals. The level of journal publishing activity is systematically assessed based on Cabells' own criteria (see Predatory Reports Criteria). The criteria include peer review and publication practices, fees, indexing and publication metrics, among others. Degrees of severity have also been defined for the identified deficiencies. When a sufficient number of criteria are met, the journal is classified as a predator and added to the database.
Learn more about using the database in the user guides or watch a short introductory video.
The database can be accessed through the University of Vaasa Finna.
